What is an L-1 Visa?
An L-1 visa in an intercompany transfer visa. An L-1 visa allows an employee of a foreign business to transfer to a related business in the United States.
There are three kinds of L visas:
- L1A Visas for Manager and Executives
- L1B Visas for Specialist Workers
- L-2 Visas for the Dependents of L1A and L-1B workers

Core Requirements for an L-1 Visa
There are several core requirements for an L-1 visa. These include:
- The employee must have worked outside the United States for one year in the last three for a “Related Entity”.
- The US business mut be related to the Related Entity by:
- Common Control / Ownership
- Being a Subsidiary or a Parent
- Being a Branch of the Foreign Entity
