US Visas for Singaporean Nationals: H-1B1, E-2 and Investor Routes
US visas: which route fits you?
Singapore has two agreements with the United States that most countries do not: the visa waiver for short visits, and the H-1B1 professional visa under the US Singapore Free Trade Agreement. Everything else follows the general rules.
H-1B1
Only Singaporean and Chilean nationals qualify. No lottery. Applied for at the US Embassy in Singapore or, for UK residents, in London.
E-2 and E-1
Singapore is a treaty country. Buy or start a US business, or trade with the US, and run it on a renewable visa. The business plan decides the case.
L-1
Move a manager or a specialist from your Singapore entity to a new or existing US office. Employees of any nationality.
EB-5 and EB-1
Permanent residence for the family through a qualifying investment, or through EB-1A, EB-1C and EB-2 where the profile fits.
UK visas
Our London office is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Singaporeans who are lawfully resident in the UK can often deal with both their UK status and a US application from London.
Global Talent
For established or promising talent in tech, science, arts and design. No sponsor needed; endorsement first, then the visa.
Innovator Founder
For founders with an innovative, viable and scalable business idea endorsed by an approved body.
Skilled Worker and sponsor licence
A sponsor licence for the employer, then a Skilled Worker visa for the hire. We handle both sides.
UK Expansion Worker
Send a senior employee to set up the UK branch of an overseas business. Time limited, then switch.
Italian visas

Elective Residence
For those with stable income who will not work in Italy. Consulate led; the income proof decides it.
Investor visa
A two year residence permit for a qualifying investment in an Italian company, start up or government bond.
Citizenship by descent
Recognition of citizenship through an Italian parent, grandparent or further back, with the records to prove the line.

Before you apply: the visa free entry trap
Once a Singaporean is refused a US visa of any kind, visa free travel ends. Every later visit needs a B-1/B-2 visitor visa, and B-1/B-2 applications made after an earlier refusal can be refused too. Several clients came to us after a refusal elsewhere. We therefore discuss, before filing anything, whether to hold a B-1/B-2 visa first. It is not an easy decision and we spend real time on it.
