US Investor Visas for Scottish Businesses

Scotland's strong trade and investment relationship with the United States makes it an ideal base for entrepreneurs pursuing US investor visa routes. Our Edinburgh office advises Scottish businesses and individuals on the two flagship US investor programmes:

  • E-2 Treaty Trader Visa — available to British nationals who invest in and actively direct a US enterprise. Renewable indefinitely in two-year increments.
  • EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa — the direct path to a US Green Card through a qualifying investment of $800,000 or more in a job-creating US business.

L-1 Visa for Scottish Companies

Scottish multinationals and companies with US operations regularly use the L-1 Intracompany Transfer Visa to move key personnel between the UK and the United States. Our Edinburgh team handles both L-1A (managers and executives) and L-1B (specialised knowledge) applications.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment

Through our firm's Singapore office, Davies & Associates is the only law firm in the UK licensed by the Government of Grenada to operate the Grenadian Citizenship by Investment programme. A Grenadian passport opens access to over 140 countries visa-free and unlocks the E-2 Treaty Investor Visa for nationalities without a direct US treaty.

Memberships and Community

In the UK we maintain memberships with the Institute of Directors, the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the British American Business group. Our UK-licensed lawyers all hold Practising Certificates issued by the SRA. Our US immigration lawyers and US business lawyers resident in the UK are all members of a US State Bar where they are lawfully licensed to practise law.
