Grenada Citizenship from Dubai

Citizenship by Investment for U.S. E2 Visa Access

In Dubai, most of the wealthiest people want a second passport. They seek better travel options, family security, and new business opportunities. However, one point is frequently raised: in 2026, which passport will truly be valuable?

While most Caribbean passports offer respectable visa-free travel, one of them stands out. Grenada

It goes one step further by being the only citizenship-by-investment program in the region that offers a practical route to the United States through its E-2 Investor Visa. For as long as the business is in operation, this visa allows you to live in the United States with your family, invest in an American company, and manage it yourself. Grenada is still listed by the US State Department as a complete treaty country for E visas. Few other Caribbean choices can make the same claim.

“I would definitely be a big advocate for the rest of my life for anyone wanting to explore the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Programme, leading to the E2 Visa. The most important thing is a good team behind you. With Davies & Associates, you’re in safe hands… You need someone who can support you on the ground… Not to mention, as a passport, it’s great from a travel perspective… It’s just 4 to 5 hours from New York.”

As Grenada keeps vital doors open, particularly the American one, the distinction is more important than ever.

Non-Immigrant Visa Ban: Grenada Exempt

The US government imposed new security-related limitations in February 2026 that prevent citizens of some Caribbean nations from applying for US non-immigrant visas. Cuba, Dominica, and Antigua & Barbuda are among the impacted nations. Although Dominica has long been under US scrutiny, many citizenship-by-investment specialists were unprepared for Antigua's inclusion. Positively, Grenadians are still completely qualified to obtain a US visa. This change primarily affects B1/B2 visitor visas (now often limited to 3 months/single entry for affected countries) and some immigrant visa processing, while Grenada retains stronger reciprocity for non-immigrant visas, including 10-year multiple-entry B1/B2 in many cases.

This change is important for Dubai-based entrepreneurs, investors, and international families. A Grenadian passport offers more flexibility for long-term movement, family planning, and legal entry into the US business climate, in addition to making travel easier.

Why Dubai Residents Choose Grenadian Citizenship

Grenada’s programme is established under the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013, which provides a statutory framework for acquiring citizenship through qualifying investment.

Most second passports offer travel benefits. Grenada offers something more. For Dubai residents who already operate internationally, this difference matters.

Grenada is not just a passport. It is a planning tool. It is one of the few citizenship by investment programmes that can support:

  • a lawful U.S. business visa strategy
  • cross-border business expansion
  • family mobility planning
  • long-term optionality

Why D&A Is Different?

Many firms use investments to promote citizenship. It is guided by very few as part of a genuine immigration strategy in the United States. D&A is a U.S. legal practice in addition to being a licensed Grenadian international marketing agent.

That distinction is important. We were one of the first American law firms to develop a Grenadian citizenship-based E2 visa strategy. The way cases are organized from the beginning is influenced by that experience.

“Mark guided me through the merits of each of the eligible citizenship by investment programmes – Montenegro, Turkey, and Grenada… Mark encouraged me to opt for Grenada since I wished to take my father with me… To provide additional peace of mind, Mark also connected me with one of his Indian clients who is now living in New York on an E-2 visa, having first become a citizen of Grenada.”

In a legal advisory relationship, client information is managed. When appropriate, the attorney-client privilege protects sensitive disclosures, such as the source of funding and past immigration status. Standard agents, on the other hand, might be forced to divulge information.

We have an obligation to operate in our clients' best interests.

Since the donation route is quicker, cleaner, and more in line with the client's goals, we frequently suggest it. Because of commission systems, many agents prioritize real estate possibilities.

This isn't a product sale. It's a strategic and legal decision.

Grenada E2 Visa Eligibility for Dubai Residents

Grenada and the United States have an E-2 pact. Grenada is recognized as one of the treaty countries for which E-1 and E-2 visas may be granted, according to the U.S. State Department's reciprocity material table.

As long as they fulfill the conditions, Grenadian nationals can apply for the U.S. E2 investment visa. Nevertheless, an E2 visa is not always granted with a Grenadian passport. The applicant still needs to meet all E2 requirements and make a qualifying investment in a legitimate U.S. company. The nationality requirement is merely satisfied by Grenadian citizenship.

With an E2 visa, a candidate can make an investment in a US company, oversee and run that company, or even reside with their family in the United States.

Grenada Citizenship, and the E2 Visa

Grenadian citizenship can help you qualify for an E2 visa, but it’s not automatic or risk-free. US visa officers sometimes take a closer look at E2 applications when the citizenship is very new, and the person has little real connection to Grenada.

Important 2026 Note on the AMIGOS Act: Under the U.S. AMIGOS Act, applicants who acquired Grenadian citizenship through a financial investment (donation or real estate) may need to demonstrate at least 3 years of continuous domicile in Grenada before becoming eligible for E-2 classification. In our experience working with Dubai clients, careful structuring and the donation route often allow smoother processing, but we always address domicile planning upfront to minimize scrutiny.

But, at the end of the day, E2 eligibility depends on two main things: your Grenadian nationality and how strong your US business investment is, not on whether you got your passport through donation or real estate.

Why is donation often the best route?

At times, cases based on citizenship-by-investment can attract extra attention these days. Although it’s important not to overthink it. In our experience, people who obtained Grenadian citizenship through the donation route have been getting E2 visas approved smoothly, often without any questions about the AMIGOS Act.

For many Dubai-based applicants, the donation route is:

  • faster
  • cleaner
  • easier to document
  • better aligned with E2 strategy

However, the money you donate to get Grenadian citizenship is not considered an investment for E2 purposes.  What actually counts is the investment you make later in your US business.

Why do many Dubai Advisers Push Real Estate?

It is also important to understand how the market in Dubai operates. Many agents promote Grenada real estate options heavily. That is often because real estate transactions generate higher commissions, not because they are the best option for the client.

Real estate can be appropriate in some cases, but it introduces:

  • project risk
  • exit uncertainty
  • longer timelines
  • more complex documentation

For many applicants, particularly those focused on U.S. immigration strategy, these factors are not aligned with their objectives.

At D&A, as a law firm, we are not driven by commissions. Our role is to advise on the structure that best serves the client’s interests.

Position on UK and European Travel

Grenadian citizenship still makes sense for UK and European travel, but let’s be straight about how it actually works now.

For the UK, Grenadians can still enter visa-free for short stays, but you now need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) beforehand. It’s not a visa, just a quick online pre-approval.

For Europe, it is pretty much the same. You’re still visa-exempt for short visits to most EU countries, but from late 2026, you’ll also need an ETIAS approval before travelling. Again, this is not a visa, just another online travel authorisation.

For families and investors in Dubai, this means the passport remains genuinely useful for travel. It just involves a bit more digital management these days instead of turning up and walking straight in.

These few changes imply that:

  • The Grenadian passport still gives you visa-free access for tourism and business visits.
  • The only real change is that you have to get these two digital permissions (ETA for the UK, ETIAS for Europe) in advance.

Position on U.S. Nonimmigrant and Immigrant Visas

This is exactly where Grenada stands out.

The US State Department now restricts the granting of visas to citizens of a number of Caribbean nations. B1/B2 visiting visas, student visas (F, M, J), and even immigrant visas (with a few exclusions) are suspended as of January 1, 2026, for Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and a few additional countries. Nearly all visas to Haiti are completely suspended. Grenada is not included in that list.

Grenada has a distinct advantage as a result. Grenadian passport holders are currently evading these new US restrictions that are affecting other Caribbean passports, so it's not simply about the E2 visa alternative.

This combination is important to Dubai-based investors and founders, as you should be able to access the US more with a second passport, not less.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment Options

Grenada provides a number of legal routes to get its citizenship. The appropriate route depends on the client’s objectives and overall strategy. Some of these routes are:

National Transformation Fund

It is a pathway for government contributions created under the Act. Minimum contribution starts at US$235,000 for a single applicant or family of up to four (as of April 2026). This is the fastest and cleanest option for most E-2 focused clients.

Approved Real Estate Investment

Investment under section 11 in a project authorized by the government. Minimum investment begins at US$270,000 in government-approved projects, with a 5-year holding period.

Section 11A Business Investment

A statutory business investment route was introduced by amendment, allowing citizenship through qualifying business investment.

Upcoming 2026 Integrity Measure

The program is introducing a requirement for applicants to spend at least 30 days in Grenada within the first 5 years, plus biometric data submission. This further strengthens the long-term credibility of Grenadian citizenship.

How to Apply for a Grenadian Passport from Dubai

Applications must be submitted through authorised agents in accordance with the Act and Regulations. Well-prepared applications are typically processed within a few months.

Usually, the procedure includes:

  1. Choosing the right path
  2. Pre-application screening
  3. Preparing documents
  4. submission
  5. Review of due diligence
  6. In principle approval
  7. The investment's completion
  8. The granting of passports and citizenship

Due Diligence and Programme Integrity

Grenada’s programme operates under a statutory framework that includes:

  • the Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013
  • the Citizenship Act (Cap. 54)
  • implementing regulations

These establish due diligence, eligibility, and revocation provisions. This is a compliance-driven programme designed to preserve long-term credibility.

Why Grenada Is a Strong Choice for Dubai-Based Investors

Several programs could seem similar when seen only as passports.
The differences are evident when considered in the context of a more comprehensive legal and immigration approach.

Grenada stands out because it combines real E2 treaty access with several practical investment routes and a stronger position for international travel. Unlike some other Caribbean countries, it offers a better setup for UK and European trips (still visa-free with just an ETA and upcoming ETIAS requirements) and, more importantly, keeps you in a much stronger spot for US visas. As of 2026, Grenadian passport holders are not affected by the partial or full US visa suspensions hitting countries like Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and Haiti. This makes Grenada especially useful for Dubai-based founders and investors who want wider, more reliable access to the United States instead of facing new restrictions.

This makes Grenada one of the most strategically advantageous citizenship alternatives for investors and founders based in Dubai.

CASE STUDY: Indian Couple Secures Grenadian Citizenship and U.S. E-2 Investor Visa

An Indian couple desired to move their family to the US and grow their business there. From India, they were unable to apply directly since India does not have an E-2 treaty with the United States. In order to get legal U.S. residency through the E-2 Investor Visa, they required a strategic second citizenship.

For their selected U.S. E-2 Investor Visa, they chose the Grenadian Citizenship by Investment program. The couple decided to donate to the National Transformation Fund. This option had one of the quickest application timeframes, no worldwide income tax, and no Grenadian residency requirements.

Our team at D&A helped them every step of the way from the start. We handled the entire Grenadian citizenship application as a U.S. legal firm and a licensed Grenadian international marketing agent. We organized due diligence, created all necessary paperwork, oversaw source-of-funds verification, and filed the application directly through the proper channels. The procedure was transparent and easy to follow. They obtained their Grenadian passports and were granted full citizenship within a few months.

“Davies & Associates team has helped me with E2 visa and corporate legal matters… successfully obtained my E2 investor’s visa in 2021.”

Our U.S. immigration lawyers took over the E-2 side once Grenadian citizenship was obtained. We produced all petition materials, organized the qualifying U.S. business investment, created a thorough and persuasive business plan, and offered intense coaching for the E-2 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in Barbados. The couple was able to go smoothly from citizenship to visa acceptance without any gaps or contradicting advice because of our dual experience. From the first Grenada application to obtaining the E-2 visa and arriving in the US, the entire process took less than a year. As E-2 visa holders, they easily cleared immigration upon arriving at JFK Airport in New York and started establishing their new life in the United States.

“They worked on my case 24/7 and were very patient in answering all my questions.”

The couple and their family currently reside in the United States. They preserve complete mobility while successfully operating and managing their American business. They have also traveled to Grenada on multiple occasions and value its pleasant climate, welcoming people, and convenient location as a gateway to the Caribbean.

Key Outcomes

  • With the full assistance of our qualified team, they got expedite Grenada citizenship through the donation route.
  • The U.S. E-2 visa and Grenadian citizenship procedures were seamlessly coordinated.
  • Obtaining and entering the United States with an E-2 visa was successful.
  • They are now actively running a legitimate U.S. company
  • They have options for long-term family mobility and company growth

This case shows how our combined expertise as a seasoned U.S. immigration law firm and licensed Grenadian agent made the family's journey easy and effective. From the beginning, we carefully planned to produce outcomes while safeguarding their interests under attorney-client confidentiality.

A Grenadian application from Dubai should be treated as part of a broader legal and immigration strategy.

The right structure depends on your nationality, business plans, family situation, source of funds, and U.S. objectives.

If your goal is to obtain a second citizenship that genuinely supports U.S. access and long-term planning, Grenada deserves serious consideration.

FAQ: Grenada Citizenship from Dubai

1. How much does Grenadian citizenship by investment cost in Dubai in 2026?

The minimum contribution to the National Transformation Fund starts at US$235,000 for a single applicant or a family of up to four members (April 2026). Approved real estate investments begin at US$270,000, with the property usually held for five years.

Additional costs include due diligence fees, government processing fees, and legal charges. The exact total depends on your family size and chosen route.

2. Which route is better, donation or real estate?

For most Dubai clients who want fast access to the U.S. E-2 visa, the donation route is the better choice. It processes faster, requires simpler documentation, and carries no project or exit risk.

Real estate can work if you want a physical asset in Grenada, but it takes longer and adds complexity. We recommend the route that best fits your overall goals, not the one that pays higher commissions.

3. Can I use Grenadian citizenship to apply for a U.S. E-2 visa?

Yes. Grenada is the only Caribbean citizenship-by-investment country that holds a full E-2 treaty with the United States. After you become a Grenadian citizen, you can apply for the E-2 Investor Visa by making a substantial investment in a genuine U.S. business and meeting the other requirements. The money you contribute to Grenada does not count as your E-2 investment.

4. How long does the Grenadian citizenship process take?

Most well-prepared applications receive approval within 3 to 6 months. The donation route usually moves more quickly than real estate. Our team manages pre-screening, document preparation, and due diligence to keep the timeline smooth.

5. Who can join the application?

You can include your spouse, dependent children (typically up to age 30), and, in many cases, parents. We review your family structure at the start and include everyone possible under a single application.

6. Do I need to live in or visit Grenada?

No. There is no residency requirement to obtain or maintain Grenadian citizenship. You do not need to move to or spend time on the island. (Note: A new 2026 measure requires at least 30 days in Grenada within the first 5 years for program integrity.)

7. Will I need special authorization to travel to the UK or Europe?

Grenada passport holders can still enter the UK and Schengen countries visa-free for short stays. From 2026, you will need a quick online UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before travelling to the United Kingdom. For most of Europe, ETIAS approval will also be required once the system launches in late 2026. These are simple authorizations, not full visas.

8. Is Grenada affected by the recent U.S. visa restrictions on Caribbean countries?

Grenada remains in a stronger position. It has not faced the same cuts to visitor visa validity that affected Antigua and Barbuda or Dominica. This makes it especially useful for families planning lawful business access to the United States through the E-2 route.

9. Does Grenada allow dual citizenship?

Yes. Grenada fully permits dual and multiple citizenships. You can keep your current nationality without any problem.
